New Project Spotlight: Royal Touch Crochet Blanket
In today’s New Project Spotlight series we’re shining the light on the Royal Touch crochet blanket designed by BebeBlanket on Ravelry. There is a link to a free instructional video, or you can purchase the written instructions. I used the free video link.
Many of the projects I make, I would make again. And those are the ones I share here. Although I’m in the midst of trying lots of new patterns and techniques, this pattern is on the ‘will definitely make again’ list. It’s simple, yet stunning.
What You’ll Need (or what I used for the Royal Touch crochet blanket)
- 4 skeins (355 yards/skein) of Hobby Lobby’s Sugarwheel yarn (100% acrylic, 4-weight) — 3 skeins in the colorway Pistachio Chip, and 1 skein in Cinnamon You There
- US-I hook
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
- BebeBlanket’s Royal Touch pattern on Ravelry or video on YouTube
Once you get going, the pattern is a 2-row repeat —- one round of shells, and then one round to pop those shells. It’s another simple pattern full of double crochets, single crochets, and back post doubles. It has a wonderful texture to it and is easy to work in front of the TV or in the car while passengering.
It is worked in the round and my finished dimensions were 37.5” x 37.5”. This was a project where I just used what I had. I already had 3 skeins of the Pistachio Chip and figured I would make the entire blanket in that. But about halfway through I scored a sale at Hobby Lobby and found a single, random skein of the Cinnamon You There. At first I wasn’t quite sure it would go into this blanket, but then I thought, why not?! Let’s give a try and a new pop of color!
You’ll see in the picture where I worked the Cinnamon You There skein. I allowed the colors of all the skeins to flow. No cutting here. I enjoy having the fewest ends possible to tuck.
Sometimes all you need is a little splash of color.
Final Thoughts on the Royal Touch crochet blanket
The Royal Touch crochet blanket is an easy, peasy pattern that has such a neat finished look to it. I could see working it up in any number of color combinations! Thank you to BebeBlanket for sharing the Royal Touch crochet pattern.
