New Project Spotlight: Crochet Infinity Scarf

In today’s New Project Spotlight, we’re shining the light on the Crochet Infinity Scarf from Jamey over at Dabbles and Babbles.

I’ve made two of these scarves from thicker weight yarn, and am thinking about working up a few more to use up some of my thicker weight yarns. And to boot, it doesn’t take much yarn…about 1.5 skeins of Loops & Thread.

So let’s get into the details.

What You’ll Need

  • For the mustard color scarf – 1.5 skeins of Michael’s Loops & Thread yarn (6-weight, 100% acrylic, 104 yards/skein) in the colorway Golden Mist
  • For the light blue scarf – 1 skein of Lion Brand Homespun (5-weight, 100% acrylic, 185yds/skein) in the colorway Waterfall
  • US-L hook (the pattern called for a US-K but I went up a size)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Dabbles & Babbles Crochet Infinity Scarf pattern

Finished Dimensions (when folded as pictured and laid flat):

  • Mustard scarf – 33.5″ x 7″
  • Light Blue scarf – 32″ x 7″

Once you set up your foundation, the pattern is a simple 2-row repeat worked in the round. You could make it longer or shorter by just changing your initial chain row.  Just keep in mind you’ll impact the amount of yarn you’ll need too.

This scarf is easy peasy, and that’s what is so awesome about it!  Need a quick gift, this is your answer! Worked in double crochets and single crochets, it moved right along. Another good one to work on while watching TV or listening to a podcast.

If you crochet, you are a crocheter. It doesn’t matter how fast or how much. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day, or if you’ve been crocheting for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just crochet. — borrowed from www.happilyhooked.com

Additional Ideas for this crochet infinity scarf

The thicker yarn gives it such a nice texture. For a little variety you could try

  • Mixing two 4-weight yarns to create the thicker weight yarn and give your scarf a different look.
  • How about a variegated yarn with a solid yarn
  • Or heck go all in and do 2 variegated yarns for some extra pizazz!

Today’s forecast: 100% chance of crocheting
